Migrants' Citizen Science Association
EVERYONE BELONGS
MCSA strengthens migrant and citizen science communities to shape knowledge, research, technology, policy, and society. We support migrants as knowledge holders, contributors, participants, and partners in more inclusive research.
What is MCSA?
An association where migrants help shape science
The Migrants' Citizen Science Association (MCSA) is an independent association that brings together migrants, researchers, universities, NGOs, policymakers and the public. It creates space for migrants to take part in scientific processes — broadening the questions research asks and strengthening the evidence it produces.

Migrant Citizen Science
Whose knowledge counts, and who produces it?
MCSA asks whose knowledge is recognized and who can help shape research. Traditions that center Western perspectives and men's experiences can overlook other forms of knowledge. We support migrant participation, including the perspectives of migrant women and gender minorities.
Migrant citizen science reframes migrants as producers of knowledge, not only as subjects or beneficiaries. It opens scientific processes — from setting questions to sharing results — to people whose lives and perspectives are rarely reflected in research.
Research & Evidence
Research that takes migrant knowledge seriously
We examine how gender, unequal opportunities, and decision-making affect who can take part in research. We bring migrant knowledge and experiences together with careful research methods to understand issues affecting communities.
